This device is a melodic pattern generator. It has a squencer alike interface where you can draw notes and three adjustable curves that let you control the sound characteristics over time. It is fully polyphonic and provides several instrument banks.
These scheme shows the components that make up the device
The editor is divided in four VIEWS.
You change the view with the "Select View" button. The views X axis represents the time intervals within a bar. If your device length is two or four bars, you can change the current bar using the navigation buttons on the botton-right side of the screen.
Thera there are some basic elements that are aviable in all views.
The basic properties dialog provides access to the main configuration of the device.
Name: The name of the synthesizer bank.
Length: The duration of the sequence in bars
Instrument: The tone bank
Octave: Base octave for the Piano Roll grid
Portamento: Activates de portamento and sets the portamento time
Use this view to create note events.
Click an empty cell to create a note. The duration of the created event depends on the "note length" parameter. Click in a filled cell to delete the event placed upon it. Hold the finger an drag it up or down to scroll the octaves.
The notes displayed in the Y axis of the grid could be filtered to maximize the view space. This is usefull when you are working in a particular scale and want to restrict the edition to its notes. The base note (defined in the loop that contains the synth) in displayed in light gray an the fifth of it is displayed in dark gray.
This tool is designed to reduce the editing efford allowing you to create several events at one time.
When the mode is activated, click the quicknotes key reapeted times. A different execution pattern will be introduce in the row for each time you press the button.
You can paste the events of one bar to another. Click the phone menu button and select "Paste notes from".
The LFO is conected to the main VCO frequency of the instrument, so this view works like the modulation wheel of a keyboard. Use the botton parameters to set the frequency (expresed as repetitions within a bar) and the waveform of the LFO. The main screen holds a curve that represents the variation in time of the amount of the effect. A click in an empy place creates a node. To delete a node drag it out of the grid
This views let you control the parameters of a low pass filter conected at the output of the instrument. Each view holds a curve that represents the variation of the parameter over the time. A click in an empy place creates a node. To delete a node drag it out of the grid.
There is also a "Global View" that you can enter pressing the "Global View button".
The X axis separation indicates the bars of the sequence, and the Y axis indicates the piano roll octaves. Click in the boxes to navigate to a particular position.
